Frequently Asked Questions

What is veganism, vegetarianism, and "plant forward" lifestyles?

Veganism is a lifestyle choice in which an individual abstains from purchasing or consuming any animal products. Vegetarians do not eat meat, but may consume other animal by-products. A plant-forward lifestyle may include occaisonal meat as well as other animal products, but typically centers around plant-based foods.

What are the benefits of going vegan?

Studies have shown that reducing your consumption of animal products reduces your personal environmental footprint and may improve your health. See the learn more tab for more information and sources.

Do I have to go vegan if I care about the environment?

No! Reducing your consumption of animal products to a point that is compatible with your lifestyle is totally fine. There are plenty of ways to make sustainable choices, like supporting local farmers, choosing lower-impact animal proteins like chicken when possible, shopping second-hand, and lots more.

“Veganism is not about giving anything up or losing anything; it is about gaining the peace within yourself that comes from embracing nonviolence and refusing to participate in the exploitation of the vulnerable”
